Here Goes Nothin'

Well I've done it. I've finally succumbed to the world of blogging. The idea actually hit me for the first time this morning. I had just finished talking to Carrie about the passage of scripture that I had read that morning and I thought, "Hey! Wouldn't it be sweet if my friends and family could see and keep up with what I'm reading and learning?!?" And so that made it official. I am officially joining the 21st century about nine years late and I am starting a blog. At this point I see the main purpose being edification for my fellow believers. Hopefully some of my ramblings will strike a chord and encourage/convict/whatever God happens to be working in you at that given time somebody. If nothing else you can say, "Boy, Everett still isn't very smart, but the poor guy does try!"

I've been doing my devotionals on a site called youversion.com. It is a lot like Blue Letter Bible and many other sites that allow you to read the Bible online. The big boost here is that it has on online journal so that I can type my thoughts in as a read. So, using the extremely clever methods of copy and paste, I will move all my thoughts on to this here blog. I think that's all for now. My current study is through Judges and I started using YouVersion when I was on chapter 6 so that's where it will start. If I'm going to many days without an entry that's when you get to send me a friendly email/phone call and remind me to get in the Word. Alright, well I think that is all the paperwork for now.
